Edition Details

Our aim is to make the most beautiful recreation of the original oil paintings using state of the art technology reproduction scans, digital pigment printers and highest quality mediums. Our goal is replicating the beauty, essence and exact physical structure of the original. Thus, making the Unique Editions more accessible, collectable and an impressive piece of art in it’s own right. Our Unique Edition Pigment Prints are hand stretched by the artist on professional museum wooden supports, and varnished with multiple layers of glossy UV varnish. The final artworks have the exact feeling of the original oil painting and are of the highest quality.

About this work

Life Cycle takes the viewer on a journey through life’s paradoxes. While the work seems to reside comfortably within the genre of realism, a deeper message unravels as one spends some time to study the painting. E.C. Prince invites us to dive beneath the surface beauty to uncover the poetry and metaphor that lie within. Starting from the lower left side of the canvas, the painting begins with a fresh new yellow and pure white imaginary flower just budding. As the viewer follows the composition clockwise, the bouquet grows and reaches upward until the top of the canvas as a celebration of ambition and freedom. Continuing down the right side one finds a group or family. A large red flower, possibly acting as a symbol of love and passion, is looking upon the farthest and last flower in the composition. This final flower appears to hold onto it’s last petals catching a beam of light over the rest of it’s darkened head.

The edition translates the rich colors of the oil painting into the highest quality pigment print. The finishing touches of hand-applied UV varnish and framed on wooden stretchers make each Unique edition an art in their own right.

We ship hand stretched pigment prints in Airfloat StrongBox boxes. The boxes are lined with foam to ensure safe arrival, and you'll find handling instructions inside. If you live in beautiful Copenhagen, please feel free to drop in the physical gallery for hand pickup.
